Carolyn and Rory’s – Cobh Cathedral Wedding

The ideal partner in life is one who allows your true self to blossom, one that encourages the greatest parts of that person you wish to become, and is a person that you have that same effect upon. They are a person that not just entertains you, and makes you feel special, but really nourishes who you are, and allows you to be completely at ease with the union you have built. Many people search for just such a relationship. Rory and Carolyn are one such couple that have been fortunate enough to find one.

Totally at ease with each other, they are a prime example of a perfect pair. Having been in a relationship for over sixteen years, their courtship began as two kids in school who had fallen in love. Since then they have built a life with strong ties to friends and family, celebrating the time they have with each other and creating an open and loving atmosphere for everyone who knows them.

Their service was held at the beautiful and ancient Cobh Cathedral, overlooking the town of Cobh. The setting was grand and serious, though the obvious love the couple shared enhanced the romance of the moment. Carolyn’s twin sister, Valerie, was her matron of honour. That, combined with the number of friends who were able to join them from the UK made the event all the more precious to the couple, all present would agree that a Cobh Cathedral wedding is a special event indeed.

After the ceremony came a trip to Barryscourt Castle for what became a very entertaining photo shoot and when I finally had them to myself I got to see the tender and loving side to them. After a quick yet all important visit to the beach with photos of Ballycotton Lighthouse in the background, Carolyn and Rory hosted a reception at the Garryvoe hotel, where the real celebration began. There was music and champagne, and every face was alive with laughter and smiles. Several speeches were made from friends and family, demonstrating a depth of love for the couple which is felt throughout those in their lives. The events, and the couple, were just as it all should be.

The party continued under the supervision of Bog the Donkey, who kept the music going and the atmosphere festive. When the time finally came for the couple to leave the reception and enter into the next greatest chapter of their lives, everyone present shared the same sensation: These two are destined to be the happiest of pairs. They retreated on their honeymoon to Maldives & Sri Lanka not as a vacation from life, but as a first adventure, in a long string of joy to come.
